About me
So, what about me?
- I'm an entrepreneur (just recently started calling me that),
- a computer programmer (practically almost all my teenage to adult life),
- a computer gamer (ever since i know how to press any key),
- a mountain biker (since 4 years ago, when i realized, to be succesful, is to also be physically successful)
- a father, wife (since the event happened, in 2004)
- a billionaire (since never, well it depends on what currency we are talking about)
Caresharing
At the moment, i am the General Manager (for lack of any specific title) at Caresharing, we are an IT company, developing software that help and improve the delivery of care in the Healthcare industry. With this venture, i do programming on the framework level, lead the software development team, keeper of our culture, manage the local operations (Cebu, Philippines) and do everything else no one is assigned to do.
I've been with Caresharing since it started as a project in 2006 at SimpleTeQ, a consulting team i started. It started as a client-project with Harm Rietjens, that turned into our full time commitment. Our main products now focus on Chronic Disease Management protocols, and we are slowly venturing to the consumer side of Healthcare. We've had some success so far, ever since it broke away from its startup stage. Though, now that it is on its growing stage, i would say, there are equally or more challenges to overcome.
@tweetitow
I am also the only programmer and a co-founder of @tweetitow. A web-and-sms integrated application. It started as a simple SMS-to-Twitter gateway, in 2009, and now became one of the vibrant and active online community for teenagers in the Philippines. I co-founded @tweetitow with my wife, @owrange.
CodrSchool
I also co-started CodrSchool with my team at SimpleTeQ, a low-key personal effort to help computer programmers get exposure and experience in developing applications for the web, mobile and the cloud. It's main offering is a 3-month practical internship program where students of computer programming courses get experience developing a product from scratch.
BuhayStartup
I blog about startups at BuhayStartup, and curate startup links and resources on its companion site, Startup Wiki.
Cebu, Philippines
I'm out and about here in Cebu, Philippines, working at Caresharing, and trying to be useful in the local community of startups and programmers. I live with my family, my wife @owrange and our 3 little kids, Miggy, Meg and Mati.
